A few weekends ago, a friend suggested a trip to Dutch Wonderland. In an effort to squeeze one more drop of summer out of this year, we loaded our kiddos up for a road trip to Lancaster, PA.
We made it! All sunscreened up and ready to get inside the park.
(Notice the spiderman toy in hand. A valuable lesson was learned this day about leaving our toys in the car if we want to keep them safe)
The dutch wonderland mascot.
At least C is enjoying himself while waiting in line.
Remember that lesson I mentioned earlier? Spiderman only lasted until we went through the gift shop on our way into the park. C's grief lasted all day. Even now when he wants to take a toy with him somewhere I say, "Do you think it'd be safer if we left it in the car? I'd hate for you to lose it." Then he slowly sets the toy inside his car seat and looks up at me with sad eyes, "Remember when I lost my spiderman toy?" :*(
Don't ask me why they both chose to be girls in this picture.
Putting guns on the ends of the airplanes...Great idea. Making them immovable so your kid has no choice but to aim it directly at the child in front of them...Brilliant. Seriously?
All three of them worn out and ready to head home. Of course, C was the only child to stay awake for the full 2 hour drive back. Quietly watching his movie with the exception of complaining whenever sleeping Kaylee's head managed to land on his arm.
