4th of July

One awesome thing about living in Texas (besides the no snow thing!) is that I have family near by.  We went to my uncle's house for the 4th of July and had a great time.  And not just because we were able to get out of our hotel room for the day. ;)  It was great to visit with my family and for my boys and my cousin's boys to play with each other.  C and her oldest are the same age and have a grand time together.  Also, Uncle Richard pretty much has every toy a kid could dream of.  He has toys for adults too!  Like the remote control cars he was ramping over his grandson.  Or the helicopter that Daddy crashed into lil' peanut.  It's true.  Boys will be boys.  And so will men.  Lol!

I had to document him helping in the kitchen. :)

We played all morning, had lunch, and then went down to their neighborhood pool.  We had planned to stay for fireworks but around dinner time the boys were beginning to unravel and we thought it would be better to just hit the road and head back to our hotel.  We started to see fireworks from the highway and Daddy led us on what I thought was going to be a wild goose chase, but ended up planting us in the middle of a subdivision on a blanket in front of a lake surrounded by different fireworks displays.  It was pretty perfect.  Even if only one of the kiddos enjoyed it.  Lil' peanut started crying after the first loud boom and when hubby asked him if he wanted to go back to the car and watch he cried "back car!" and bolted toward the car faster than I've ever seen him run.  Ha!  When C and I got back to the car we asked him if he liked the fireworks.  "No, scared firework."  Maybe next year! :)

It was a fun day and we were all exhausted.  And the boys actually slept in the next morning!  Sad to think that 7:30 is considered sleeping in, but I'll take it.

Almost forgot our big news!  We have a contract on a house!  The inspection is tomorrow morning, so hoping we don't discover anything horrible.  Our closing date is the 25th.  We are getting very excited to have our own home by the end of the month!
