I usually like to take the kids out on Fridays, but tomorrow I am going to be doing lots of baking for little miss B's birthday party on Saturday! It's starting to warm up around here...at least we can see a few patches of grass finally peeking through the mountains of snow. So, we took advantage of the increase in temperature and headed to the zoo. The kids were all bundled up inside the wagon...they didn't even ask to get out and walk. It's a good thing because apparently the zoo does not own a shovel. You know those mountains of snow I mentioned earlier? Not a bit of it had been plowed. I guess they just decided to drive over it in their little golf carts instead. And now all of the walkways are just big sheets of ice. Daddy had fun hauling the wagon around while wearing his old tennis shoes...the ones with absolutely no traction left. I was smart. I wore my boots. And yes, I did volunteer to pull the wagon. That lasted until I got to the first little incline. Those kids are heavy! Despite the fact that we were mucking through snow and ice, we had a good morning. The best part was our kangaroo encounter. The kangaroos are usually roaming free throughout the Australia area, but they were all contained behind the fences today. Maybe because all the snow. They must've thought we were there to feed them because they got really close. I mean really close. So close one of the roos and B could've kissed each other. But, she was definitely never in any danger!!! (I just found out my brother, B's dad, reads my blog) Enjoy the pictures, but forgive the poor quality. I didn't bring my camera, but hubby managed to catch some on his phone.
