The B&O Railroad Museum is simply a dream come true for all small train lovers! (And their mamas!) We went again this week and got to try out their 'toddler time.' A sweet, elderly woman read the kids a story and then they made a craft. I love watching C at things like this. When we used to go to the mother goose storytime in Mississippi I spent a lot of time keeping him from climbing onto the little stage area, bribing him to sit still with snacks, and pretending I wasn't the mom of the kid who was running in circles around the storyteller. ;) It was normal two year old behavior, of course. I just never imagined that one day we would reach a point where when I went to lift him into my lap he would turn to me and say, "Hey, I thought I was gonna sit alone." And he did. Like a pro. After the craft the kids got to go outside and ride the kiddie train. Every time we've been to the museum he has seen this and asked to ride it. But, of course it's never running because they only do it for toddler time. I love the last picture I got of him with his sly smile...trying to act all cool like an almost four year old should. But, you can still tell how thrilled he was!
