The last of the vacation photos

Tia (hubby's sister) had her baby boy back in March and this trip was the first time we had seen him.  Snugly babies are hard to resist so anytime I sensed it was time for him to take a nap, I offered to take him. ;)  Sneaky, I know.  I had the magic "get the baby to sleep" touch though, so nobody complained.
He's actually with his mama in this picture.  They didn't need my baby charming skills on the boat...the movement of the water lulled him right to sleep.
Hubby held him a couple of times, claiming baby Cameron didn't like him.  Really, babies scare hubby.  He was great with C, but other people's babies?  Terrifying. :)
The famous Lakeside Creamery!
C definitely enjoyed it.  He's a boy after his father's heart though.  Chocolate.  Every time.  They had new flavors every day so I tried something different every time.  Coconut, apple pie, blueberry cobbler...sigh.
For a 2 1/2 year old, my niece has an impressive attention span when it comes to spa day.  I told her I would do her nails when we got to the vacation house and she did not forget about it!!  One day when my boys were occupied (I've taken to doing my own nails after C is in bed these days...a certain little boy would love to "have his nails colored" any time he sees the polish come out) I gave her the full mani/pedi spa treatment, complete with tattoo application.  It was too cute that she wanted her butterfly on her foot just like her aunt.
C has since developed a little bit of anxiety about being thrown into the air.  Asking daddy each time, "You won't do it too high, will you?"
I wonder why?!
Just chillin' on the porch swing before we headed home.
A stop at Archie's BBQ for lunch before hitting the road.
This trip really grew C's love for owls.  So much so that he has finally decided on an owl theme for his birthday party this year.
We had a great vacation.  I'm not sure if my in laws planned to make this an annual thing when they rented the beach house last year, but it seems to have turned into that.  (Or I hope it has?!)  And I am not complaining!  Hopefully all our families will continue to be able to carve time out of our schedules to get together.
And can I just say how awesome it is that the next time we probably do a family picture we will actually be holding lil' peanut instead of his picture!
