What we've been up to

We've been spending a lot of time with these two cuties lately.  We even had them overnight twice in the past couple of weeks.
Little Meggie is close to the age that peanut will be when we bring him home.  It's fun to be reminded what kiddos are like at that age.  Meggie, in particular, is super adorable...and cuddly.  I hope the new little man is cuddly. :)

Later that night, I spent about ten minutes sweeping the patio/sidewalks...but it kept them entertained for like an hour.  Plus, they were getting along so nicely, working together as a team toward accomplishing a common goal (building a home for the plastic ant) that I didn't have the heart to break up the party.
We hit up the National Night Out event again this year.  That Hawaiian shirt the other kid is wearing...pretty sure my dad owns that. ;)

Remember his unusual face paint request from last year?
He asked me that whole day if he'd be able to get a tarantula again.  I told him that one, I didn't know if they would have face painting again this year.  And two, it might not be the same person so they may not know how to do a tarantula.  Boy was he excited when we made our way to the face painting booth and discovered it was the same lady from last year.

This past weekend was kind of a let down.  It wasn't too much fun or very relaxing (as our weekends usually are).  C is going through what I hope is a "phase" and let's just say he was less than agreeable for the majority of our weekend.

We did enjoy a trip to a farmer's market on Saturday morning.  (Lest you think I made that earlier statement up, C cried/whined pretty much the entire car ride there)

We busted out the board games one afternoon.  It was fun.  Fun until hubby and I found ourselves alone after our child had run away crying.  (Actually this wouldn't have been that bad if he'd run upstairs to his room and maybe shut the door...the screaming coming from the next room didn't really make for a nice moment alone together)
Sigh.  I love this little boy.  I haven't cared for many of his behaviors lately, but that doesn't change the fact that I completely adore him!  Last night as we were snuggling in his bed together after reading bedtime stories he asked me to sing.  I chose Amazing Grace.  After I'd finished, he rolled over, looked up at me, and in his sweet little voice said, "That song is so beautiful.  I want you to sing it again."
