C had his Christmas party at school on their last day before the holiday break. It was a Polar Express theme. They had different stations set up and the kids got their tickets punched each time they made a craft at one of the stations. They were all so excited. It was really cute. I worked one of the stations and hubby made the hot chocolate that the kids had during their story time.
These two stuck around for a little while after their job was done. C's teacher got out some legos for lil' peanut to play with. He thought it was really cool to play in KerKer's classroom. Their principal came in and passed out goody bags.
Pumpkin baby was at the party too!
Here is C with the other 1st grade teacher. I think the two classes do quite a bit together so he knows her pretty well. She is also the one who heads up the book club that C is in with a few other kids.
Mrs. Clarke reading the Polar Express.
When they got done with the story the secretary brought in a package and said it was from the north pole. It was full of jingle bells, like the one the boy gets in the book, and they were cold.
"Mom! Feel it, it's cold!"
"I know, that's because it came from the North Pole."
"No it didn't Mom. They just had them in the freezer."
"No Santa sent those boxes all the way from the North Pole." (wink wink)
(winking back at me) "Oh yeah, you're right."
It's fun that he's old enough to find the joy in pretending now instead of a couple years ago when I would have worried he was going to blow the top off the whole Santa charade. He has told me this year that he thinks Santa is a distraction and he is keeping all the kids in his class from thinking about Jesus at Christmas time. Make a mama proud!
I went to take a picture of him and the girls in his class kept jumping in. He was getting so irritated. Lol! Can you tell by his face? You know why he didn't want them in the photo?
Because he wanted to do this....
I was so glad I got to spend the day watching this silly kid in his element. (And thankful for a super chill baby who is content to come along for the ride.)
