Now that the tears are out of the way, let me just sum this story up. By the time we were taken back into a room and the doctor made it in, C was pretty much back to his normal self. Whining that he wanted to play the video game that they had on the wall and asking if he could get a snack from that machine was saw on the way in and saying things like "Yay. I'm not gonna die today" to the doctor. I went from being totally panicked to being pretty embarrassed. I was the mom who brought her completely healthy child into the ER. Wait, no...I brought two healthy children into the ER. And the ruckus they were causing in our little room was proof of that. The doctor told me he would much rather see him making a fast recovery like that than to walk in and still see him as sick as he was that led me to bring him in in the first place. He did a quick exam and basically said there was nothing leading him to believe that it was anything other than a virus. He has been doing fine since we came home. He has periods of just wanting to lay down, complaining that his tummy hurts and his fever is still persisting. Thankfully with regular doses of ibuprofen it hasn't gotten about 102.
Today was much better. :) We are all getting a bit of cabin fever with being stuck inside. C is too sick to really be going out and playing in the heat all day, but not sick enough to be content just laying around anymore. Lil' peanut went to the door and grabbed his shoes several times today. He wants OUT! Ha!
While I was skyping with hubby, I got a phone call from a florist trying to find my house for a delivery. "Aw" I thought "Did my mom send me flowers because of yesterday?" Nope, my husband sent me flowers! Aren't they gorgeous?!
He's not a huge flower guy. I can probably count on one hand the times he's brought me flowers in the last few years. So, I was definitely surprised that he thought to have them delivered while he was away. This deployment sucks, but I will give it credit for turning my husband into a bit of a sap. ;) Nah, seriously he has been so thoughtful and caring and supportive. He's doing what he can from where he is. And I so appreciate that!
On another note, we are two weeks home now! That is really hard to believe. In some ways it feels like a lifetime ago. Our lil' peanut has just melded into our family with such ease...it feels like he has been with us much longer than he has. He has brought with him so much life and joy...adding to that of his big brother's. Together they are filling my heart and my home with much love and happiness!
