C has been itching to take the training wheels ever since the fated day that I broke my ankle! The little friend of his he was riding with that day was riding without training wheels. I told him that we would try it soon. Of course, that didn't happen. With hubby home it was the perfect time to give it a shot. After he got all fitted out with his new gear he spent about an hour working on balance and steering with the pedals off. He started just going down the driveway and then progressed to the street. Once he had that down, it was time to put the pedals back on and take off. I can't believe how well it went! And that he was up and riding so quickly. I'm sure some of that has to do with his age...he is on the older end of learning how to ride a bike. But, I think it worked out perfectly. It might have been hard on the confidence of my sensitive little soul to struggle (and fall) a lot when trying to learn.
Yay C! You are doing such a great job riding your bike! And yay for Daddy being such a good teacher (even though he will admit it was pretty easy). Little man just took off!
