Friday morning I was feeling pretty good and decided that we were in need of an adventure. We set off for the Deanna Rose Farmstead. This is such a neat place. It's crazy to take my own kids to a place that I used to play at as a kid. Of course, the little old farmstead has come a long way from way back when. They have expanded more than once and there is just a ton of fun stuff to do. Enough stuff to keep us busy for SEVEN hours! Yep, seven hours. I could not believe we stayed all day. But, the boys were just so good and we were having a great time and the weather was gorgeous. My ankle definitely didn't appreciate it, but it was worth all the walking.
The pedal tractors were definitely C's favorite thing there. We visited them many times over the course of the day.
Lil' peanut got in on the tractor action too. (That is when Mommy was willing to push him. Whenever I sat down to rest he would sit on his tractor and move the wheel then throw his hands in the air and look at me like "What is wrong with this thing?!") :)
These two were incredibly sweet with each other all day. C would wait for his little brother to climb up, or help him up, then he would take him down the big slides on his lap. When lil' peanut decided he wanted to slide alone C would still holler down at me "Mom! Are you ready? I'm sending him down first. Here he comes, ok!" There were lots of kids C's age playing too, so he would often hook up with them for a game of tag or superheroes. Lil' peanut was fine doing his own thing, but whenever C would run past him he would wave like crazy and smile and say hi. C would wave back and tell whoever he was with "That's my baby brother. He likes to follow me around." ;) Their relationship is definitely still in the beginning stages, so it can be rough (most days it is!) but this day they were oh so precious together.
Love them!
He had a blast feeding the baby goats! He was all big and brave and told me I could wait outside the pen. That was until a goat tried to escape when he opened the gate (right after it chowed down on his shirt!) He told me I could come in after that. ;)
This little guy usually lays down for nap around 12:30. At 3:30 he finally passed out in the stroller and snoozed for about half an hour. He woke up in time to get one more turn in with the pedal tractors before we headed home.
We had such a great day at the farmstead. We will have to make it back again before we head home.
