Myeolchi

Tonight Grace was giving me a run down of kid friendly Korean food.  I was totally on board as she talked about beef stock and bean paste and rice cake soup.  Then she pulled these little guys out of her fridge.  

Oh, man. "Try it" she says. And I'm thinking about the story she told me awhile back about how it took Kaylee awhile to eat them because the little eyes freaked her out. I can see that. I'm also thinking about the little song Megan made up about our lil' peanut and how they are going to be friends and eat myeolchi together. Cute. Actual myeolchi...not so cute. "Come on, just try it." "Eh, I don't know." "Seriously? Come on, this is what your kid is probably eating." "Ok. Wait, make Megan eat some first." What am I five?!  Well, the 2 year old was completely up to the challenge and while she ran off with her mouth full of myeolchi I took a bite.  "It's good, right?"  "It's a little fishy."  Ha!  Not sure what I expected from a bite of teeny, tiny fish. 

Grace has been so sweet to take the time to figure out a few easy dishes that she thinks our lil' peanut will enjoy.  We are hoping to get to the Korean market soon and have a cooking day together!  We better hurry it up...it's been 2 weeks since EP approval...we are hoping for travel call any day now!
