Final Hurrah!

Hubby deploys in two weeks. :(  And since in nine months he will be coming home to two little munchkins, we decided to have one final hurrah as a family of three.  Two summers ago we went to Williamsburg.  You can click here, here, and here if you want to relive that trip and get all weepy at how much C has grown since then.  That's what I do.  Anyway, we had fun last time, so Williamsburg seemed like a great place for our weekend getaway.

C on our drive there enjoying a movie.  (Does anyone else wonder how we ever survived on road trips as kids?  I mean good grief what did we do?!?) ;)  C gets in the car for a five minute drive and feels entitled to some kind of screen time.  I try to get him to understand what it was like in the good old days, but he generally finds watching out the window "boring" and complains the whole time.  Ok, moving on.
My little model boy outside our hotel.

Testing out the weight room while Daddy gets us all checked in.
This is our villa.  Well, the whole thing is not our villa, but it's in there.
When looking for a place to stay we found a Marriott that had one bedroom villas which were surprisingly comparable to a regular old room at some of the other chain hotels in the area.  Being our final hurrah, we decided to go for it.  Have to say, glad we did.

The weather here is gorgeous so the fireplace is definitely not needed but we had to turn it on for a picture.
After we got all settled in we walked down to the playground.

After that we set up a little egg hunt for C.  This year I got a set of Resurrection Eggs to use with C.

After he found all the eggs he opened each one up in order while I used the little booklet to share the story of Easter.

I'm really glad I got these.  I look forward to using them for years to come with our kids!

After our egg hunt we headed to a little shopping area we went to last time.  They have a Christmas store where it "snows" inside every few minutes.  This time the Easter bunny was there terrifying small children.  So, we enjoyed the free entertainment while we had a treat.

Fudge before dinner?!?  This is vacation. ;)

We didn't make it to the pool our first day here, but C enjoyed a bubble bath in our whirlpool tub before bedtime.
