Look at me grow!

One week
 One month
 Two months
 Three months

I can't believe it's been three months already!  It seems like such a long time ago that I went to bed thinking I was going to be pregnant forever. ;)  Three hours later I woke up to glorious contractions and knew it was the day!  (I need to write my birth story before I forget it.)  I know he's still new, but I can't imagine our family without him in it!  He is a perfect addition.

This sweet boy is such a joy.  He has a happy demeanor and is almost always content.  He smiles often and lately I've gotten some giggles out of him.  He is 25 1/4 in. long and weighs 14 lbs.  That's the 90th percentile for weight and the 99th for height!  He has discovered his hands and he is usually "praying" with them or sucking on them.  He's a pro at tummy time and is really getting the hang of head control.  He's basically got us all swooning over him.  Even Daddy, which is impressive because he is the first to admit that babies are not his favorite.  But, practically every time hubby looks at him little pumpkin busts out the biggest grin.  It's pretty hard to resist.

I love having a baby again and I'm doing a much better job slowing down this time around.  I held C a lot, but I also spent more time getting "stuff" done back then.  Now I definitely have more stuff to do, but I spend less time doing it!  My house hasn't been dusted in three months and I will never be caught up on laundry, but babies don't stay babies long at all.  Those dishes in the sink don't bother me like they used to.  Not when there's a sleepy baby to snuggle.  And it's not just the baby growing up around here either....those big boys are getting bigger by the day, and I'm noticing.  When I'm not holding that sweet baby I'm building train tracks for lil' peanut or playing board games with C.  Forget the state of my house...my kids are going to judge me on the state of my heart.  And I want them to feel loved because I had time for them.  "I spent too much time holding my babies and playing games with my kids.  I should have been doing more important things"  said no mom ever!  It's sometimes hard to remember what matters most amidst the day to day grind, but I'm certainly trying.

Moody Gardens

We spent yesterday at Moody Gardens.  And I'm spending today playing referee (why do kids need so much time off school for the holidays?) ;)  so it's pictures only for now...

Galveston with the Grandparents

We just wrapped up a great visit with my in laws.  They escaped the Kansas heat for some warmer weather (even though they kept saying how cold it was!  Ha!  It was a heck of a lot warmer than 12 degrees!!)  My mother-in-law was ready for the beach.  They actually honeymooned in Galveston.  I had no idea!  Checking out the water was first on the agenda when we got there.

A chilly first time at the beach.
Lil' peanut skipped his nap (a decision that will most definitely come back to haunt us later) and fell asleep on the way there.

After we explored a bit we walked to the restaurant.  It was on one of the fishing piers and we had a great view during lunch.

After lunch we found a good patch of beach and let the boys loose.  The water was so cold but they didn't care at all.

Yay Grandma for getting those coats off before they got soaked!  They would have been sad little puppies later on with wet jackets.

See lil' peanut's grin?
It's because he just pelted me with wet sand.  Little punk. ;)
On to the last stop of our day, the festival of lights at Moody Gardens.  We got a membership which took forever!!!  Go to this building, stand in that line, now stand in that line, ahhh!  This is when the no-nap monster made his grand appearance.  Yeesh.  Once we set out on the path for the lights everyone was good to go.
"I scared!"  He got over his fear quickly, of the lights...there was a fire performer about half way through that brought out the hysterics though.

They had a lot of really neat light displays.  I thought it was much better than Zoo Lights and we'll definitely be back again next year.  The only thing the boys didn't like was that they had to wait until another day to explore the rest of Moody Gardens.
