We made it to the children's museum in Baltimore yesterday. And we had a great time! There was a ton to see/do and we spent over 6 hours there...the last 3 hours being my favorite since that was when all the field trip groups had to leave for lunch. ;) My top ten pictures from our day...
The big slide was a huge hit. They had a giant play structure in the middle of the museum that went up all three levels. They had a little map that marked out pathways according to age groups. Can you guess which path C spent no time taking? The one that was actually for his age group, of course. Way too boring for him!
I love the look of wonder on his face in this one.
He waited so patiently in line while a bunch of unruly first graders accosted George. After the man in the yellow hat finally laid down the ground rules about the whole waiting-in-line concept (which I found surprising my stay-at-home 3 year old had a better grasp on than all these school kids) C walked up to George real slow with a shy little smile on his face. Too cute.
This was a pitch black drain pipe tunnel that he had a blast going through! I couldn't believe he did it...over and over again. I guess there is strength in numbers because all the kids were trying it.
The ball pit. So much fun. This room was for kids 4 and under. And it was our safe place when the throngs of gradeschoolers started to get out of control!
I think this was his favorite...the water room. The little boat in his right hand. He played with that for nearly 2 hours.
This one made the top ten because we took it of ourselves after we went through that drain pipe tunnel together. You know, the one that he so bravely went through in the morning with all his little gradeschool homies. When we went back in the afternoon the exhibit was deserted. At first he sat on a little bench saying he was going to wait until another kid came to go through with him. He looked so sad sitting there waiting...I couldn't let that continue. So, I of course offered up my services as drain pipe buddy. I was in a skirt, lugging a giant purse, and really hoping that this thing didn't get smaller and smaller as it went along! I might've been freaking out just a tiny bit. Not gonna lie..pulled out my cell phone and used it to light the way. (This is why I never went haunted-housing as a teenager) C thought it was great and he kept talking about how we protected eachother and got through the spooky tunnel safe! This is also the only picture I have of the two of us from our day...so it would've made the top ten even if it hadn't been taken right after our drain pipe adventure.
See what I mean about how he wouldn't stay on the paths meant for children his age?!? I like this one because as I watched him climb out and across this third story suspension bridge I kept thinking about how my mom would be completely freaking out if she was watching him do this. It made me laugh.
We had a really fun time! I'm glad we took the day to go.
