Here are the rest of my pictures from the March for Babies. What a great way to spend the morning. I was so thankful to have my sister and friends here to walk with us. Last year we walked in KS, where almost all of our family lives, and we had a lot of people come out and walk with us. When I knew we would be doing the Baltimore walk, I was a little sad that it would just be the three of us. It was great to have some extra support. This year, I felt great for just about 99% of the time. But, there was that tiny little moment, that I don't even think anyone noticed, where that thing called grief flowed up from where it's been hiding and literally took my breath away. My eyes filled with hot tears as I kneeled down to give C his "I am walking for Wesley" sticker. I wanted so badly to tell him why we were doing this walk. How we had raised so much money to help other babies. And how keeping Wesley's memory alive makes him such a great big brother. Instead I simply asked him if he wanted a sticker. I put it on his shirt and pulled him in for a hug. And I kissed the top of his head. And I was thankful. And I was sad. Then I heard the speaker say that the Baltimore chapter had raised over $550,000. And I was proud. The swell of grief subsided. And I was proud.

Our First Weekend
C and I spent our first weekend in MD enjoying the company of my sister and good friends from college. We did things like...make "snake" pancakes for C. (Just for the record, I made a pretty awesome dinosaur...this was hubby's Freudian slip creation.
...I got lots of cuddle time with my sweet lil' nephew...
...I embarassed hubby by whipping out my camera in Starbuck's...
...we invaded the Dutch Market (which hubby has been raving about since he discovered it). This doesn't even show what we ate while we were shopping! Things like pretzel logs and ice cream...yum!
...Hubby thought it would be a good idea to let C pick out some new friends for his tetras...2 catfish sharks, 1 of those "sucking fish" yep that's what we call it, and 1 snail. (*UPDATE* At this point in time, only the snail remains...well, there is a catfish shark lying in the corner, but I'm not allowed to take care of the fish, remember? I think that should include dead ones. Whose great idea was it to upset the balance of our perfect, living tank anyway?)
...and baby B totally stole the show with all his adorable cuteness!!!

"My first fish!"
We had been promising C a fish once we got to MD and he was very pleased to see that Daddy already had the tank set up the night we got in. The next evening we headed to Petco to pick out his new little friends. And friends they are. Several times a day he climbs up onto his little perch to check on his fish. He says goodbye to them before we leave and goodnight to them before bed. Even sneaking out of his room last night to, "just check on my tetras again." He's in love. Hopefully the little talk we had about "how fish sometimes don't live for too long, but if they die, it's ok because we can just get new fish" will save him from heartbreak when one of his little guys winds up at the top of the tank. The first night he had them he told Daddy at bedtime, "I hope my fish don't die." We do too, buddy, we do too. I'm happy to report that all three tetras made it through their first night in our care alive and well. And when I say our care, I mean the care of my boys. I'm not really allowed to take care of these fish. I slaughtered numerous goldfish recently after we got married, so hubby thinks it's better if this time around I have more of a 'watch and learn' experience. I don't really know how much I've learned, but it has been really fun to watch C take such pride in being the owner of his very own fish.
Easter Do-over
Since I was in the hospital for Easter I decided to have a do-over! I had gotten everything to dye eggs earlier and we finally got around to using it a few days before we left KS. After they all dried we went outside for an egg hunt. After C found them all he decided he wanted to hide the eggs from Mommy and Papa. He actually hid some of them. Of course he couldn't contain his excitement once we came outside. He bounded over to each egg saying, "Look Mama, there's a blue egg over here!" Or "Papa, come here and let me show you where a egg is!"
Omaha Pictures!!
If you haven't taken your kids to the Omaha zoo...do it. If you haven't taken yourself to the Omaha zoo...do it. We had a fabulous time there...we got there when it opened and we didn't leave until it closed!! Here are the pictures from our day at the zoo.
Ready to Go!
So excited that the first building we went into had snakes!
Inside the rainforest!
In the desert dome.
One of the many snakes C took pictures of.
Watching the sea lions.
Sharing our 1st cup of ice cream (we got our 2nd after this one got knocked onto the ground!)
"Brr! It's making me cold!"
"I need to snuggle with you Mom so I could warm up!"
C walked up to these and said it was him and Daddy.
Inside the shark tunnel.
