Boys at the Farm

Hubby is getting ready for deer season and had a day trip out to the farm planned to do some prep work.  The last time he took the big kids out there for the weekend, the baby was so heartbroken.  He stood in the driveway and cried hollering "go, daddy, me go, daddy" while they drove off.  We think he's got another year or so before he can join the ranks of the "big kids" so I decided to tag along this time so he could go too.  He loved it!  It was fun to see the boys in their little happy place.  And the fall foliage was just beautiful.  We had a great time crunching around in the leaves.  I captured some sweet pictures of my handsome boys and I'm once again reminded how quickly they are growing up on me.  Love these brothers!

Hold on for Fall!

Whew!  I feel like fall hit and we are just flying through the days!  I don't think we're overscheduled (I like for the kids to only do one activity at a time) but we seem to rarely have a day "off" lately.  It's all good things, just busy.  C has been enjoying the soccer season and doing well on his team.  Lil' peanut opted out of soccer because in his own words..."I don't want to do soccer cuz I will get mad and push all the people down."  Haha!  That child is so in touch with his feelings, and can usually articulate them pretty well.  He loved swimming lessons this summer so he's back at it in the indoor pool here on base.  Poor guy says the water is freezing though and shivers through most of the class, but still has a smile on his face.  I even got pumpkin baby in on the fun and take him one morning a week to a parent/child gymnastics class.  It's seriously the cutest thing ever!  His personality makes it easy so it's actually really fun for me and not stressful at all.

I need to blog about baby's 2nd birthday...and maybe fill in his baby book while I'm at it.  Ack!  Life is just busier with 3 kids than it was with 2.  Busier and louder and much, much fuller too!  I'm often exhausted, sometimes overwhelmed, but always glad to have them all.

A few older pics...

Loving on the Old Navy dog while mama shopped.  Haha!

A bug discovery.

Playing in the sandbox.  Pumpkin often wants his big brother to go out back with him as soon as he gets home from prek.

The boys 1st Royals game :)

Sitting with big brother during the school's 9/11 service.

Sharing is caring!

C at soccer practice!  I've been so proud of him this season.  He's always been pretty good at soccer, but I love watching him develop a stronger sense of teamwork and sportsmanship.  He was so thrilled he scored TWO goals at last night's game. :)

Zoo Church

There are a few things that I really don't like about moving.  Finding a church is one of them.  There's just something so awkward about "church shopping" as we affectionately call it.  Add in a kiddo who really struggles with change and a baby who really struggles with going to a nursery without mama and it can be a pretty rough experience for everyone.  I tried a few churches with my sidekick C who I can always count on for honest feedback. "Eh, it was ok." "Boring." "Mom! They have video games!!!!  Best church ever!"  After the video game church (let me just say when your kid can tell you every little detail about who played which character, what the scores were, and which levels were played and remember NOTHING else...that's a problem!) there was a new church I wanted to try.  It was a Sunday that hubby had drill and I decided I wasn't up for flying solo with the kids so instead I declared it to be "Church at the Zoo" day!  I somehow even convinced Nana and Papa to play hooky on a Sunday morning and join us as we celebrated all the unique and interesting animals God filled the world with. :)  We had a blast!

Usually I have to force them to let me get one picture of all of them together, but this day they were so into taking pictures.  I was loving it.

He was freaking Nana out with his daddy long leg friend.

Not five seconds after I told him "Papa said don't get poop on his hat" he got pooped on!

He got such a kick out of that!

Our first church at the zoo was quite the success.  I don't think we'll make it a regular habit, but it was certainly a great time to spend outside enjoying creation with my little blessings.
