Georgia Day 3

Today was the first day of jump week here at Airborne School. :)

 He's the second one from the left!  What do you mean you can't tell?  Oh, I see.  Yeah, I can't tell either.

 Neither can C.  Good thing he's found a way to entertain himself while we wait for Daddy to drop.

 Look C!  More jumpers!  Maybe Daddy is in that group.  Stand here and I'll take a picture of you with the soldiers in the background.  That could be Daddy in your picture.

 Oh, wait a minute.  That wasn't Daddy.  Daddy is standing right over there.  When did that happen?  He really is the second one from the left in this picture (back row)

 Finally!  The moment C has been waiting for all morning.  His hug from Daddy!

 Congratulations hubby!  First jump done!  (And according to the school's facebook page, they were headed up for jump #2 around 4 pm today.)

 We love you and are super proud!

Mother's Day 2011

Georgia Day 1

Technically day one of our trip would've been Friday, which we spent driving.  It took us two gas stations, two Starbucks drive-thrus, one Chik-fil-a, and FOURTEEN hours, but we made it!  C was an absolutely perfect travel companion.  Seriously, he was soooo good it was unbelievable.  (He has always been a great traveller so I guess I should not have been completely surprised)  He happily "read" books, looked out the window, watched movies, colored, sang songs, played his leapster, snoozed, and even made a few phone calls to pass the time. 

On Saturday, C was up bright and early so hubby took us on a tour of Ft. Benning.

We went out to the lake and spent a perfect morning lazily throwing rocks in the water, looking for turtles, and just drinking in the wonderfullness of being together as a family again!

After the lake, we went to the infantry museum on base.

Any time the buffalo showed up C was in hubby's lap.  I don't blame him!  Those things were huge, and nasty!  There is still buffalo go on the windows of the car, even after a wash!

Note the nose coming through the driver's side window that these two don't even notice.  Hubby almost
got licked by that one!

I look like I'm laughing...but under those glasses it's sheer terror folks. ;)

Firsts

We are here in Georgia while hubby finishes up his last week at Airborne school.  Today hubby will make his first jump.  But, Saturday during our wild animal park safari drive-thru, C had his very own first.

 Careful which bottle you drink from!

If you didn't guess what C did, the fact that we quickly made him start hydrating afterwards should probably clue you in.  Gross, I know.  But, also sordof a rite of passage for boys.  A rite that C found hilarious.
